I saw one of these devices at a ghost hunting event and I really lit up and wanted to get it! It was very hard to obtain and unfortunately, you can not purchase it anymore.
The good news is that the creator, is making something new! Bad news is that it is not released yet! ;)
I ordered the PX from Chris Fleming's store: Ghost Equipment Store and I was so excited to get it!
It is recommended that you do use the best lithium batteries you can get and they will only last for about an hour and you will need to change them again.
The maker, Bill Chappell said that this device does take a lot of battery power because of the processor that is within it.
The PX has a 2048 word vocabulary and how it works is that in theory, it is thought that spirits can manipulate the electro-magnetic fields (EMFs) and utilize the words and emit them from the PX.
Pretty cool eh?
I have had the PX for less than a year and I really do love it!
You can tell when it needs batteries however because it will start to just ramble on and on and won't stop and with words that make no sense. Usually after an hour or so of using it, I find this happens.
There are several modes but I tend to keep it on the first, Dictionary mode. I have not had it respond with exactly what I am looking for, to say a name or directly responding to questions a whole lot but much of what it says has been in correlation to the location I am at.
Upon first using it, it was very quiet and then eventually, if you give it some time, it will start. There are some words that are hard to make out and certain ones are normally directed at myself. It is my theory that it would take some time for the spirits to realize it can utilize this piece of equipment to be able to communicate to us. The whole idea and premise of it, is just wild!
Can you imagine being a spirit or ghost and wandering around do-to-do and being used to the idea that no one can hear you or see you? Then all of a sudden, someone comes along and sits down with this odd looking black box and they are talking directly to you and not only that, but you can somehow figure out that WOW you can alter or use the electro-magnetic fields and actually make use of this dictionary in this device and actually communicate and they can really hear you? Hear words you choose? I would think it would take a bit for the spirits to get use to being able to do this.
So is it hocum? I don't think so. I think spirits are pretty quick to pick up on how things work and perhaps it is all natural for them to utilize their thoughts and pick up on ours? The words I have had come forth from the PX really are amazing and as you read on with the next few investigations, you will see how the PX has really been able to produce words that fit and not just random blather.
I will be talking more about the PX as I began to use it last fall and at certain locations and investigations.
There is a new part to the PX coming out soon that will be an add-on to this device so that you can see and read the words that are being said! The PX has a digital voice so it can be hard to determine what it says at times. Or if you are not paying attention, the word or syllable will be said so fast, you will miss it.
You definitely want to have a recorder on at the same time.
Another cool feature of the PX is that it can replay the last 400 words said. The drawback is that if you turn this off, those 400 words are gone. So what I have started to do is to make a recording of nothing but those words being replayed so I can listen to them later.
There is a manual you can download and you can also read here for some support on how to use it:
http://www.ghostshop.com/px/
I have taken the PX with me to different locations. Sometimes on ghost tours, ghost hunts, and sometimes just leaving it out on Halloween night to see/hear what I might get! I'll be sharing those results in future blog posts so be sure and check back for more about this very interesting device!
Looking forward to the new equipment coming out as there are some amazing things on the horizon as those brilliant engineers continue to perfect these devices!

Alamo City Ghost Tours
I had a great time in San Antonio this past week!
Alamo City Ghost Tours was a very informative and enjoyable tour. If you check out their link, you can see they advertise a few different tours while you are in San Antonio. Unfortunately, I was not able to go on the Cemetary one as they are not offering that one at this time to individuals, only to large company groups so that they can charter the bus. With the economy being what it is, it has become difficult to conduct some of these tours.
This particular one I did get to go on however was $15 and we walked just over a mile.
This is their brochure, and as you can see, it caught my eye and I could not resist with the little ghost peeking over the sign. ;)
J.R., our host, was a complete treasure of information on the old history of San Antonio. I loved to hear the stories that he told at each location!
At the start of the tour, he goes over the equipment that he hands out to EACH person, mostly IR (InfraRed) Thermometer guns to use for the night. You can get them on Amazon for about $30.00. He also handed out a few EMF detectors as well. You are allowed to take still photos but no video and no EVP recordings as he does not want anyone to record his tour.
I can't blame him for that and also it would be near impossible to do a proper EVP session what with all the people.
We went to many of the more famous historical locations and some that are said to be haunted and also to a few that I had not been to before. This was more of a ghost tour than a hunt. I have to keep reminding myself that whenever I go on a local tour that does not limit people, that it is going to be more of a tour and not a ghost hunt.
It is definitely worth $15 just for the history and great stories alone! Plus, it gave me an idea that when next I am in San Antonio, I will have a few spots of my own that I will want to go and visit during the day during my own walking tour.
I had also inquired of the Mission Tour as San Antonio has several missions, not just the Alamo. But again, due to the economy and how it is set up, this tour group was not offering the Mission Tours at this time.
Thank you J.R. for a really great tour! I enjoyed it immensely! And thank you for the inspirations!

Following An Example of Wonderful Integrity
Right now, I am in San Antonio, one of my favorite cities for my regular work and of course, while here, I thought to seize the opportunity to do a little ghost hunting and investigating, especially since the hotel I am staying at, is said to have had some peculiar things happen while renovating and the staff do talk about a ghost lingering on the premises.
Also, something I like to do before I go on any trip now, is that I like to learn a bit of the history, especially the haunted history and I am not at all afraid to ask or inquire with the staff or managers about the possibility of investigating at their location. Always best to ask first before you do and many times you'll find out even more information than you may have read on the internet. I also like to keep an eye out for good ghost tours or hunts that are being offered locally.
I had been to one before here in San Antonio several years ago, purported to be a ghost hunt and it was ok. It was more of a ghost tour which is good and you got to try equipment which is really nice, especially if you are like I was at the time, brand new at it and never got to see, much less use any equipment. It was a good start. However the site had pics of many of the celebrities and led you to believe they all knew the other and blah blah blah...After attending an event, I realized how false that was.
Ok, so here I am again, another of many visits to San Antonio, where my hero Jim Bowie died at the Alamo. And while here, I thought to look to see if there were other tours or such and I came upon one that I have already signed up for and I am about to take tonight. It is a walking Ghost Hunt & Tour, with a tour group called: Alamo City Ghost Tours. As I was reading their brochure, they made a statement that I really liked which brings me to the title of this post. I was very impressed and it nudged me to write this post because I wanted to be sure that what I present here, also has the same clear and concise purpose and intent in mind.
Please bear in mind as you read my blog, that this is about my own personal journey into the paranormal. The natural progression and steps I've taken, the places I've gone to, the experiences I've had, people I've met. I will also share whatever evidence I may or not get and how equipment works that I picked up, etc etc.
I have put up pictures of me with many people that you may have heard of or are on tv etc etc. Now, I too, like this tour that I am to take tonight said, I do not know... "know"....those people. I am not their close friend, I am not investigating alone with them nor am I on the shows. Yes, I have investigated with many of them, me along with a lot of other people at ghost hunting events. Some of them, yes, do recognize me because I've gone to several events and will say hello and chitchat with me and I can talk to them yes, but I am not close personal friends with them.
I want to be sure that my blog does not put that out there or misleads in any way, because my own personal intergrity and honesty mean a great deal to me. I put up their pics with me so you know who they are that I am talking about and that yes, I have indeed met them and it also shows you that yes, YOU can go meet them too! :) But I am not wanting to ride on another's coat tails or doing this to align myself to someone else who has become well known in the paranormal field. I've never been one much for limelight, but I do like to have fun and I am not intimidated or afraid to go up to anyone and talk to them, famous or high ranking or not. Most of those who I have met, are where they are because they are experienced and good at what they do. I am not one to have stars in my eyes or go gaa-gaa, but instead, I enjoy talking to them to learn. Each one, when you investigate on one of the events with them, has their own way or specialty they like or prefer. So here is a great opportunity to learn how they do what they do and then see if you like it or what you can learn to take back with you for either your own team or just your own self enjoyment. :) Also remember, that when you go to events, not only can you learn from the well-known, you can learn from those not on TV. There are many groups and research teams that go to these and you can learn a lot and pick up pointers from them as well. I'll be talking about them too in coming blog posts.
Another reason and point of the blog is to try to network and bring all those together that I have met and help the reader to learn how to go about it. How to go to the events, where to get the information, where these places are located at...all of that. To show you that if I can do this, so can you and here's how!
I hope to also pass on to you about the different readings I've had with people, tours that I can recommend or events as well. Help you to learn what to expect, what to take and perhaps point you into the right direction.
About Me...
I do read tarot cards although I am not a psychic, I can get strong impressions and hear the messages the cards are sharing with me for you. I am also what is called a natural shield. I can block energies from harming people and myself. I have started to see auras which I'll get into in the future as I believe I have touched on it already. I am studying Druidry and some Reiki and continually reading and developing my own skills and natural abilities.
I do not have my own paranormal research team although I am taking my time in developing one and talking to people. The problem however is that I adore travelling and not many people have the ability to do so as easily as I so that is difficult. I do enjoy and love to investigate with other groups and I have been slowly setting that up for when I go to different places. I have my own equipment that I use and can actively engage and contribute to the team I may be working with.
I will be starting to get out there more in Fort Worth as well as other locations that I visit and travel to and I'll be investigating and going out on some local tours and then blogging about them so that if you are in that area, you can at least have one person's recommendation. ;)
If at any time, you have a question or want to know about something of myself or where I've gone to or what I've done or talked about on here, please feel free to drop me a line. :) I am happy to share whatever I can.

Return to Alcatraz May 2010
This was a whirlwind trip, an opportunity that came up fast and so I jumped to it. I had two nights in San Francisco and I knew I wanted to return to Alcatraz!
I had been here about 5 years ago in 2005 and I had taken the day tour with my daughter out to Alcatraz island and toured the prison and surrounding land. You take a ferry out of Fisherman's wharf at Pier 33. There isn't any parking so you can take a trolley car, a taxi or walk on down there from your hotel depending on where you are staying at.
This time, we thought to take a taxi down to the wharf as there was not much time between landing and arriving at the airport before we had to hurry on down to the pier to catch the ferry out to Alcatraz. So we were dressed for ghost hunting and I had my equipment all set up and ready and in one bag.
Now, a few things about this.
For one, ghost hunting on Alcatraz. When I attended my first ghost hunting event with Darkness Radio and Ghost Hunters, I had asked Jason and Grant if they had investigated Alcatraz yet? They told me that that no, they had not (at the time) because they were told it would cost them $25,000.00!! Holy smokes! But then, if anyone follows their show, Ghost Hunters, you will have seen that their 100th episode was filmed where? Alcatraz!! So either Alcatraz relented or the SyFy channel coughed up that much money! Wow huh?!
So...how did "I" manage to do this? ;)
When you arrive by ferry to the island, you are separated into a few groups and led by a tour guide up the hill to where you can receive the headphones to take the recorded self-tour of Alcatraz. This is a very STEEP hill by the way! The walking up there is not for the faint of heart! It's a good lil hike! I remember having done this with my daughter before. The recorded tour is really great! You get to hear sounds of what the prison was like with the inmates incarcerated within and the stories of the more famed prisoners and the history and it's just a really great tour! If you have not done so, I do highly recommend it! They will even show you the locking mechanism of the doors and demonstrate it. After the recorded portion of the tour, they have also added several smaller points of interest where a tour guide will tell a story of a particular area. Unfortunately, some of those go on at the same time and hard to choose which you want to hear of more. Should tell you that just one trip here, is not going to cut it and you will have to return a few times!
Alcatraz the island itself, is gorgeous with all the teeming wildlife and flowers and unique plants that abound there. The scenery is really beautiful and I got some great shots in the slide show in the link below.
The building is safe to tour through and the parts that are not, are sectioned off and you are not allowed to go in there. They are also ever mindful of the different mating seasons and hatching of the birds and will keep you from disturbing the wildlife as much as possible.
So having already taken that particular recorded tour before, my daughter and I picked up the headphones and then we quickly cut ahead of everyone else and got away from them and headed straight to solitary on our own!
It felt a bit spooky to be there without anyone else and we could feel a bit of tension inside a few of the cells that I had remembered were purported to be haunted. I did conduct a few evp sessions but I have yet to fully listen to everything as I took alot of recordings while there. It was hard to determine if I got anything or if it was all contaminated because the place echoes badly and we could still hear the people as they got closer and further along in their tour.
Listening to EVPs is the hardest thing for me and I've promised myself to get better at listening to them. I did get a new headset to help me really listen better and I'll go over that when I finish up on Alcatraz. :)
So we continued along to various locations of the prison, keeping as far ahead of the crowds as much as we could. We had taken the night tour. If you are looking to take the tour of Alcatraz, I highly suggest and recommend...the NIGHT TOUR! It's the better tour, especially for all you ghost affecionados! ;)
Why?
Well not just because it's night time! Although, when we went, it was on a particular odd and rare night when the moon was rising at the exact same moment as the sun was setting. It was a most magickal and strong night, energy wise! So of course I took full advantage of that!
Now, another reason the night tour is the better tour....the night tour is the only time when they open up the hospital wing and they only open it for 30 minutes! This makes me wonder just why?? Is there something going on or things happen in there that they are trying to protect the public from? Good question! This is where the famed Birdman of Alcatraz was kept and they monitor this area very closely while you are there and they make sure everyone is out when it's time to close up.
One other note too is that some of the guards are not too keen about ghost hunters. The lady I spoke to at the hospital wing was a huge skeptic, yet most can't deny that weird things happen there.
We had taken the earlier night tour, thinking that we would have a time lapse before the next tour came in and to where we would get an extra 30 minutes on the island without having to return. So I thought that most people would be leaving and we would have more time alone. This was not so as others too, stayed with that same notion.
The night we went, the recreation yard was closed and also would not be opening until a certain hour in the night (I believe the same as the hospital wing, at 8pm) and then close thereafter. We went to ask a guard if we could possibly get out to the recreation yard ahead of time? She said we could but we would have to walk around and go up the steep stone stair. So we thanked her and took off around the side. There was caution tape at the top but since the guard said we could, we quickly climbed to the top and ducked under the tape and went into the rec yard. We were there alone for quite some time, it was just my daughter and I and a single Canadian goose!
I let my daughter loose with the camera to go take pictures at will and I sat upon the stairs inside the yard and recorded an evp session as I would use the Shack Hack at times also. They never did open the recreation yard to the rest of the people, so we got very lucky to have had it all to ourselves.
I would use the Shack Hack here or there throughout our walk around the prison and at one point, we heard a name come out thru the white noise and it was the very name of the man who had first attempted escape from Alcatraz and get this...we were standing at the very spot he had tried it! Wow! That was wild!
We made a YouTube video for you to enjoy of this trip to Alcatraz that starts out with the starkness of the prison and then moves on to the beauty that abounds there. I hope you enjoy it!
Alcatraz - The Prison and Nature as One
It was a most magickal night there at Alcatraz. As darkness descended, it got very spooky and creepy and you could just feel the ominous energy that surrounded the place. Looking out to the other islands, I felt a longing and stirring to go explore those islands too as I had a feeling they told another tale that was not well known to the public. Perhaps another time.
On a side note, the next day, my daughter and I spent the day in Chinatown. We were hoping to catch the ghost tour there but alas, they do not start that up until June and we were there just a few days too early. Perhaps another time, we will be able to take that tour.
Beautiful Architecture of Chinatown
I can say however, the first time we were in San Francisco, back in 2005 or so, we had taken a ghost tour and we had the most fun on that one! The host was very knowledgeable about the history and stories of several locations and it was a good hike! He was very good at slight of hand and there were a few things that happened that I am still not sure if it was just mental telepathy or telekinesis or just a magick trick. But if you are in San Francisco, it is well worth to take his ghost tour and he had given us a cute lil ghost pin that I still have to this day!
Best Ghost Hunt & Tour of San Francisco ---Thanks Jim!
Jim is an exceptional storyteller and ghost guide along the streets of San Francisco! We had a great time and won't forget our fun experiences! I loved to hear the history and all the great stories he had to tell!
I know I barely scratched the surface of this gorgeous fun city and I am sure I will be returning many times!

Psychic Awakenings 2 - MN 2010
There was to be another Psychic Awakenings in MN in 2010 but it was cancelled. :(
I am only wanting to blog about it because I was so excited to go back up to MN and had quickly sent in my fee for the event and was starting to plan away for it when it was cancelled as some of the main speakers were not going to be able to make it due to their show being taped.
This was a big disappointment for me as one of my favorite trips I had taken thus far was the Psychic Awakening in MN the time before.
What was nice was that this was thru Darkness Radio and they offered to either hold onto the money for me for a future trip or refund my money. I took the refund and it was promptly sent back to me. :) So kudos to Darkness Radio for returning the money so fast and for being so kind about it!
I had really enjoyed all the vendors in MN the time before and I hope to be able to get back up there again for another Psychic Awakenings! So I will be keeping my eyes open for other opportunities and as time and money permits me to go! :)
